What we do
BERI provides operational infrastructure and fiscal sponsorship to AI safety and existential risk initiatives worldwide through four programs. For every program, we provide the same core value: handling operational complexity so teams can focus entirely on their mission.
From university-affiliated programs to independent research projects, we support their work by managing a wide range of operations and grant administration, including contracts, financial operations, tax compliance, and more.
Our collaborations
Pathfinder is a selective fellowship sponsored by the Kairos Project for students organizing technical AI safety or AI policy university groups around the world. BERI provides fiscal sponsorship for 59 university-based student groups in 15 countries through a single restricted grant from Kairos. We manage credit card expenses (advertising, meeting food, software subscriptions, etc.), process reimbursements, and occasionally pay stipends to group organizers. Student groups conduct field-building and outreach activities including workshops, speaker events, reading groups, and AI safety education on their campuses.
